Figurative art, close to the pop-art esthetic
My work centres around the portrait, the facial expressions that show us their character, their appearance, how the person is at a distinct point in their life. I don't just try to capture the resemblance of the individual, but instead how I feel it. It's about the bond between the artist and the model, the perception that I have of this person.
Usually I take photographs of the people around me, my friends and family, they offer me a small piece of their privacy, I admire them. I choose which images I will paint according to how I feel at that moment in time and what I am interested in transmitting.
