Metronomy big 2012 6 11

Playing at a few festivals in Spain this summer, including upcoming Sonar, London-based Metronomy will conquer the stages with some intense performances. Joseph Mount and Gabriel Stebbing were multi-tasking in the music business and played in a few bands before the group started in 1990. When Mount's cousin Oscar Cash joined the duo, the project of Metronomy became first priority. After several great live performances and brilliant unofficial mixes of famous tracks, Metronomy's debut single was released in 2005.

Their big breakthrough came after the second album Nights out, which was, as it is expressed on their website, "possessed by the feel of the 4am chemical-inspired journey to the next party".

Their third album, The English Riviera, was released in 2011 and is inspired by a calmer, more relaxed sound that flirts mysteriously with you during the soft summer nights.
